غربة وأحلام وسفر

And (now my) eyes are washed by tears

My heart since the day of leaving (you)

is writing then erasing the lines
يالي تركتوني أغيب
oh who left me alone
مالي سوى حزني حبيب
I (now) have no companion but my grief
وذكريات عشتها
and some memories of my life
منقوشة وسط الصدر
That are still engraved in my heart
روحي تمر دروبكم
My soul passing by your ways
طفل ولا لقلوبكم
Like a child, but there is no mercy in your (i.e:people's) hearts
يكبر بهالغربة كثير
(My childlike soul) grows up in this state
ويعد أيام الصبر
counting the days of patience
نسيت في الغربة هناي
In this state I forget my good days
يالي مقابلكم مناي
Meeting you is my ultimate wish
ليلي ظلام غيابكم
My night is so dark in your absence
لا نجم يضحك لا فجر
No star or dawn to smile at!
أشوفكم وسط السحاب
I see you in the clouds
بالماي بأوراق الكتاب
in water; in the pages of books
أنقش على غلافه دعاء
I engrave a "Dua" on its cover
يارب يجمعنا القدر
"Oh lord, make the destiny bring us together"
روحي تمر دروبكم
